About The Department
Literature shows the design of the creative process and motivates human minds and societies both in the past and today. The study of literary texts nourishes our critical minds and our imaginations as we journey through the rich history of British, American and Indian English literature. The Department of English cultivates the power of individual expression and inculcates the values of life. The department was established in 1896 with 16 Honours seats which is increased to 24 at present.
